Here is the evidence! For the past month I have beaten Brent at 10,000, 9 out of every 10 games. (I have Brent's corroboration on this!) I just have lucky hands I guess. (lets play Lonna!) Anyway while playing our usual lunch time 10,000 game, I rolled 2-twos, 2-threes & 2-fours and made the comment that that should count as some great score, like a straight in 10,000! Brent said he had thought the same when playing 10,000 with his mother, long ago before he was married and that many a time they made up scores to quite a few of the odd throws that show up in the usual game that are interesting, but worth nothing. I had never heard him tell me that before and thought it a nice remembrance. By the way, playing 10,000 a lot is why your Dad adds so very quickly in his mind. A useful game to play with your children!

10,000 dice game

I remember playing 10,000 (and other games) w/ Sam and Grandma. Sam was pretty young and Grandma would get a little impatient w/ Sam's lack of attention. She would always say "Sammie, you need to pay attention to what everyone is doing so you will be ready to play". We still say that to Sam, as a joke, because we think of it when we are playing games.
The former comment was Linda. But I can't figure out how to leave a comment w/ my name!
I really like this game and I love to play it but Rene' hates it and the only time that I can get her to play is with you and dad. Even then I think she is just humoring me.

I LOVE 10,000!!! James hates to play it with me. But we used to have a set of dice sitting out on the counter and I would give them a little toss to see what score I would get all the time. I know it is a disease. Maybe you should come up with something that for those times that you roll three dice of two different numbers, like three 4's and three 1's, then you go to save it and you get NO scoring dice!!! Oh that is a frustrating thing that seems to happen to me a lot.
Maybe I can have just 50 points each time that happens. Ok, I will take 25 points. But that is the lowest that I will go. Oh we are not making a rule for that one, oops! Well I apologize for getting carried away.
Syl maybe you better come back out here so that somebody will play a game with me.
What is your secret Syl? I have a strange memory of using the purple dice and having them be lucky for me. :) We will definitely play this game with our children. Who else is going to do all the adding for us?
