Texas Trip Part 5 - Mother's day

Sunday was Mother's day. We went to Ryan and Leslie's Ward for church. They have some deaf members there and a ASL translator. I found it very interesting to watch the translator and see how much I still understood. I was happy to find that I was able to read most of the signing. After church James, Lonna, Gwen & Harry all came over for dinner and some time together. I received some lovely, special messages from my sons & daughters & Brent, also some great books to read. Leslie hadn't been feeling well so Lonna & I had planned and made our dinner. (we didn't want grilled cheese sandwiches (Ryan's specialty, or peanut butter chew, James's specialty) It was easy with two of us and the men did the dishes. We had a Mexican chicken dish that was wonderful.
Later that evening we borrowed James's van and went to see Alan & Tricia. Tannie and Russell and their families were there also, as was Laurisa who was home for the summer from BYU. Brent & Alan went up to view and discuss the attic renovation Alan & Tricia are doing and Tricia & I & her kids just sat, relaxed and had a nice visit all together.
I had a special musical number "Mother dear I love you so" by Ryan and Becky over the cell phone. I have told Becky that I miss not seeing her sweet little Primary face singing that primary song to me so she & Ryan sang it for me. My other children also called me to wish me Mother's day happiness. A very special, wonderful day all around.

That was kind of you not to write that you had to call me and remind me of the time difference. I'm glad it was a good mother's day, you deserved a great one!

I am happy to hear that you had a great day, even though you were thousands of miles away from your own home and things. We sure had a great time with you that day, and I too thought that the dinner turned out great.

I am glad that you were able to talk to all your kids. And a special musical number, that is the best.
