While in Texas, Lonna & I went to the store. I confessed to her my dirty little secret. Do any of you know it? When I go to the Doctor's office I love to read the "People" magazine. I am somewhat ashamed of that vice. It is all just gossip, but to me it is like visiting the zoo and seeing all the strange animals and the weird things that they do. Well when I got home to Mt Pleasant, Lonna & James had given me a People magazine subscription, for Mother's day, so I can enjoy my vice more often! I sure laughed when I found it in the mail. There you have it. Those of you who are perfect can razz me about this vice, those of you with your own secrets can hug the fact of my dirty secret to yourselves.

Mom I am shocked! I would never have suspected! To be truthful however, I must admit that I too like that magazine but only read it when my coworker buys it and it "seems" there is nothing else to read. Thanks for sharing your vice. It is a new insight on you...
If I have the money, (which isn't that often) I love to read the People magazine too. So, if you ever wonder what to do with your old ones, you know where to send them!! ;-)

Hi Syl,
Who knew? It really isn't a Dirty little secret but shows how human you are. I've read the magazine at doctor's offices too!
Love,
Mom
Well well well it seems that this little "secret" runs in the family. I am not one to flaunt my imperfections to the world, but I do love a good celebrity magazine. Sometimes when I am reading them I think to myself, if I had that kind of money I am sure that I wouldn't do that, or I like that dress, I wonder if it would have the same glitz with sleeves.
Alas I am just a girl that likes to look in the window of the lives that others lead. Where is the harm in that.
I do find myself at people.com more often than is necessary (and how often is really necessary?). I love that you compare it to visiting the zoo, now there is a great analogy! Oddly, I feel better after reading about other peoples' dirty laundry! Plus, I am desperately trying and failing to keep up with the trends. I think there is no harm in people watching Syl. We are all right there with you!
I hear it's a gateway magazine. I have to admit I like those more than I should too and the internet has only heightened that sad addiction.
