May 27, 2011 Brent was honored during an awards assembly at the Elementary School. Here he is sitting with his class holding Cassidy and Ethan. He didn't know anybody would be there to witness this event. The first time I have been able to keep a secret from Brent in our 36 years of marriage. David and his family, Chris, Ethan & Maggie, Becky and her family, Doug, Julie, Laura & Nicholas and myself all surprised him there. Brent got 2 standing ovations from the students and teachers at the school. The Principal Rena Orton, did a power point presentation about Brent. I have a copy of it and if I can figure it out, I'll post it on my blog for you all to see. The only time Brent cried was when he read the letters his children had sent to him about their memories of him teaching them. I must admit, it made me cry too.

It was fun to be there! I can't believe Dad is retired though. I got choked up multiple times.
