We took a little vacation to Cedar City to visit the Shakespearian Festival. We saw two plays, the first play was held in their Shakespearian Theater, copied from the Globe Theater in Stratford on Avon in England where Shakespeare's plays were performed. It was called "Two Gentlemen from Verona" and we enjoyed it very much. Here I am standing by the poster advertising it.

Here is a picture of the inside of the theater from our seats

Here are pictures of the outside view of the theater
People (us included) are enjoying the Green Show before the play begins. The Green show is held outside. The Second play we saw was by Moliére a Frenchman who lived in the 1600's. It was called "School for Wives". It was held in an indoor theater. Both of the plays we saw were comedys and we enjoyed them very much. Brent said he enjoyed the Shakespeare one, Two Gentlemen from Verona best. I can't decide which one I liked best, they were both so good.

Wednesday we spent the morning and afternoon in St. George and toured Brigham Young's Winter home and the temple. We had a fun lunch with Nancy who works in St. George. We were in Southern Utah from Tuesday afternoon until Thursday morning. The plays both started at 8:00pm so that left plenty of time to explore Cedar City and St. George. The drive to Cedar City is the same as the drive to Logan....3 hours.

it's funny how close you have been to the festival and yet never been before. I think everyone only sees the sites when someone visits, why to go by yourselves! I sounds like it was a blast. I'm glad you got to go.

Wow Mom! You blended in so well with the poster I didn't even know you were in the picture until I read what you wrote! Sounds like you had fun! That is a great place to go, I love it there.
I didn't know that you were into the Shakepeareian festivals. I actually saw Macbeth while I was in England and we stayed in Stratford on Avon.
What a fun idea to make a little road trip of your adventures, seeing and touring the sights of St. George and Cedar City. I think that you are having way too much fun this summer.
Loved the pictures and am so glad you had a great time. You need these little get-aways.
