a new discovery

I came across a TV documentary about Carl H Bloch and his paintings. Dad, Becky & I saw some of his paintings at the BYU Museum of Art not so long ago so I was curious enough to keep on watching. I hadn't realized how many of his paintings I am familiar with. As they were showing his paintings of Christ they showed one I had never seen before. It touched me, deeply and I went on line to research what is was called. I found a copy and am including it here. BYU Museum owns the original painting "Christ Healing the Sick at the Pool of Bethesda" if you are interested in seeing more. This painting is called "Christ Mocked by a Soldier". How many of you have seen this picture before? I would like to know how narrow my art education is.

I have not ever seen that picture. I wonder how many more of his works I have or have not see. I also had no idea that you attended the BYU museums. I bet that they are quite interesting.

My art education consists of one 1010 course in college, and of course marrying Ryan. However I have not seen this picture and I love it. I haven't been to the BYU art museum in years. Thanks for passing this on.

I do have to say it looks familiar (sp) but then I worked in an art slide library, so I don't know if I count. I do love his work though.
