Water woes

On Sunday Feb 17th we could hear water running but couldn't find where it was. So we turned off our main water line in the house and went to bed. In the morning Julie texted me and asked if we had water because water was running down the street beginning at the front of our house. Believe it or not it was a relief to us just to know where that running sound was coming from. I called the city (it is now Presidents day) and they came out within 15 minutes and worked on it until it was finished, about 4 hours.

It turned out to be a pipe joint had corrupted and burst on the city's side of the water line so we didn't have to pay for it. I felt sorry for them working in the snow. It became an adventure when we didn't have to pay for it. (it would have been a trial if we had to pay for it). The strange thing is that Doug's water line had frozen in January and the city took at least two weeks to fix it, so we felt very lucky.

Thank goodness you didn't have to pay for it!
